1) The server (Blue) plays the ball in to Red. As soon as the ball is kicked, Yellows move in to defend.

2) Red passes to his team-mate and makes a run behind, tracked by the defender.

3) Red manages to create space and plays the ball through.

4) His team-mate eventually loses possession and Yellows score a point. The Yellow defenders can now become the attackers.

- 1 server, 2 defenders, 2 attackers
- Small designated area (e.g. 50m x 25m).

- Add and vary ratios of attackers/defenders,or server becomes attacker or place other players around the area to play off.
- Once the attackers have been thwarted or score, they are replaced by two more attackers to make the defenders work hard.
- Impose a time limit for a strike on goal.
- Vary size of playing surface.

- The defender must close down the attacker as quickly as possible, delay and force him into the corners to reduce his possibilities. Defending techniques such as approach, marking, communication, pressing and tackling should all be carefully observed. Give a point for every time the defence wins the ball.
- The attacker should aim to keep possession by good use of the body as a shield and the other attacker must work hard to make himself available for the pass. Give attackers a point for every goal or shot on target.
