2) The player at the near post swops position with his team-mate who flicks the ball on.

- Half football field + normal size goal.
- Personal choice of coach for the n° of attackers to be included and with or without defenders. This session can be organised as above and then practised under normal match conditions.

- Try out variations of the throw by implementing different off the ball movements by players in the box, e.g. to all areas of the goal mouth from varying positions.
- Try flicking the ball into different positions in the goal mouth.

- The thrower should concentrate on the quality of his throwing action - does the ball flight allow the receiver to flick it on ?
- Is there plenty of movement, space and options created by the other players ? How is this space exploited ? The coach should encourage his players to make decoy runs and feints where a player pretends to go one way but goes in another direction. Also, one player is positioned to block the keepers route to the ball (and his vision).
- Does the thrower get back in the game quickly and offer himself as another option ?
